I grew up in Alaska and have lived in Utah for many years. I studied biochemistry and genetics at university, and now I'm a genealogist (historian of families). Science, philosophy, theology, history … I like it all :)

I'm a Catholic, a mystic, a spiritual adventurer with a love for the diversity of religion. It is probably the underlying unity of the apparently opposite that fascinates me most. I adore languages, culture, and history. I like to travel, particularly in Europe. Recently, I visited Poland, Bosnia, Dalmatia, and Ireland. I really hope and pray that our world can find more peaceful ways to relate, and that the U.S. won't take on any more wars. I don't think that conflict must necessarily be avoided; sometimes it may lead where we need to go … but I do want to cultivate peace rather than violence … I believe that in the end all of this world is passing away relatively quickly and that what endures is love … I try to remember that “We are the answers to each other's prayers.”
